Effective treatment and control of parasitic infections depends on rapid, reliable and highly sensitive diagnostic tests. Discovery of microscope as a diagnostic tool in 17th century has lead to many discoveries concerning diagnosis of parasitic infections. Recent developments in technology have opened new avenues for the development of improved diagnostic tools.Thus with the advancement of technology now the diagnosis of parasitic infections is performed by numerous methods ranging from traditional morphological techniques to serological and molecular assays. Traditional procedure of molecular diagnosis of parasites is based on direct recognition of parasite under microscope. The development of new technological methods surely improves the quality of diagnostic methods.
