Dr. Jayanta Deka, Dean, Faculty of Agriculture, Assam Agricultural University, AAU, Jorhat, Assam is specialized in weed science and has a long working experience in different aspects in this field. He has successfully generated different technologies for field and horticultural crops. Besides, he is also specialization in cropping systems and integrated farming systems. Dr. Jayanta Deka designed and implemented a big project under world bank funded NAIP (ICAR) on demonstrating IFS models to 5000 farm families in 3 disadvantaged districts of Assam for their livelihood security. His another area of interest is rainfed farming and has been able to design and recommend cropping systems for resource use, efficiency and increased productivity in the rainfed areas.
