West Bengal based a new agro startup engaged in processing Azolla based value added products with Netherlands based technology is inviting individuals / farmer / agro entrepreneur / social organisations as contract Azolla grower associate .

Azolla is an aquatic fern. It can be grown in a low cost , make shift , closed cropping system .
It can be grown in 10-15 cm. deep standing water body .
A tentative Azolla yield is 1000 MT/ hectare/year or at the rate of 350 gm./sq.m/day

Assumptions in Azolla farming :
1. Cost of making plastic / used flex sheet lined pond ( 2.0 M X 2..0 M X 0.2M ) :Rs 800.00
@ Rs 400 for 2 mandays
2. Plastic sheets ( Silpauline/ used flex sheet / PVC sheet etc )@ Rs 500 :Rs 1000.00
3. Fertile soil @ Rs 10 per kg ( 20 kg per pond ) :Rs 200.00
4. Cow dung @ Rs 10 per kg ( 5 kg per pond ) :Rs 50.00
5 Super phosphate @ Rs 15 per kg ( 10 kg per pond ) :Rs 150.00
6. Fresh Azolla culture @ Rs 100 per kg ( 2 kg per pond ) :Rs 200.00
