Hello,
I'm developing a vegetable garden on raised beds in a small plot in Chennai. I've tomato, okra, bitter gourd and green chillii. The major & common problem in growing all these plants is the insect infestation. Last week I transplanted healthy french beans seedlings. They were growing well & now suddenly the leaves are infested (holes& drying)Even one of the bitter gourd vines has infestation with leaves turning black & young veggie turning yellow. Earlier I lost 8 of cucumber vines to infestation. They spread so rapidly. COULD YOU SUGGEST A COMMON REMEDY & A PREVENTIVE FOR INFESTATION? How regular should I fertilize and with what? I have bought Panchagavya and used one time 15 days ago. For infestation, I used a recommended organic pesticide; a concoction made of cow's urine, green chilli, tobacco & neem leaves but they don't seem to arrest the problem. I dont wish to use chemicals.
I also plan to cover my garden with shade net since it is open space all around the vegetable plot and a lake nearby. Can the above condition attract more insects?
So much of time & money is invested but the result :-( I'm a novice but very eager to grow my own.
ANY & ALL ADVICE/ SUGGESTION IS VERY MUCH APPRECIATED.
Thanks

Hello Sir

its good that that ur going for organic farming.

U can follow the below schedule for panchagavya application
The periodicity of application is given below:
Pre flower Phase(20 days after planting) Once in fifteen days, (two sprays depending upon duration of the crops)
Flowering and pod setting stage Once in 10 days (two sprays)
Fruit / Pod maturation stage Once during Pod maturation

apply azadirachtin: 1 kg for plots of 10 to 15 sq. metre.
Neem cake can also be mixed with soil and apply on and around the roots of the vegetables.

Thanks Kirti for your immediate response.

Will Azadirachtin be available in nurseries? Is there a commercial name?
I'm searching for neem cake manufacturers near my place. Should be able to source it.
Will follow your advise and keep you posted about the developments.

Thanks again.

maple termin.

HELLO SIR,

Greetings from Maple Orgtech (India) Limited !!!

we have MAPLE TERMIN AN ORGANIC PEST REPELLENT used in the field of agriculture, horticulture and floriculture .A product from em technology.
As per your query .
Firstly i would like to highlight that Termin is an new generation organic pest repellent rather than being mistaken to be a chemical pesticide or germicide.

Mode of Action:

It is to be applied in all kinds of crops, vegetables sprayed prophylactcaly (Usage before occurence of disease/pests as a protective measure).

It has to be sprayed from day 1 onwards until crops last. It will stimulate the effective internal resistance of the plants also known as ISR - Induced Systemic Resistance.

It creates an effective internal immune system which can resist the pest and disease attacks and lessen the effect of the disease and thus not allowing it to affect the resultant yield of crops.

It has been proved to have shown effective control and resistance towards aphids, thrips, jassids and mites etc. and also diseases like blight, rust, snut, powdery mildew, mosaic etc. to name some.

Application:

Apply at 3-5ml/Ltr water .

Regular application at 7day intervals.

Spray preferably in the early morning or late evening.

AND FOR BETTER RESULT.
Take 1 ltr Termin & 500ml AEM I.E (ACTIVATED EFFECTIVE MICROORGANISMS)
200 grams green chilly and make a paste of it .

All this things mix it and keep over a night.
Now apply the dilute soultion in 2-3ml/per 1liter

Do not use with synthetic insecticides/ fungicides

Thanking you.
