i intend to set up a hi tech dairy farm in punjab of up to 100 cows,pl direct me regarding the various agencies involved,financial assistance available, procedures to be followed etc, along with the sources of latest know how in the field of TMR block machines and other equipment involved.

Please understand that for 100 cows, back to back housing is better. Tied up system. Give tractor passage in the centre. 50 on the left and 50 on the right.You can milk it with a 10 can machine, if the 100 is in milking. Your job will be over in an hour. For milking parlours, you need to spend 5 times more than this figure. TMR feeding is possible only in large dairy herds – 300 + nos. That too mostly in loose housing systems.In case of 100 tractor feeding is possible by chaffing the fodder, mixing it with other feeds. TMR is just too costly for 100 and the cost wont be viable.

100 Cows dairy farm
Dear sir rsand ji,
We can start 100 cows dairy farm with shed size of 100x 30- 40 ft for with head to head with milking machines.
20-25 acres of agricultural land is required for raising fodder crops.
We have to invest at least Rs. 75 Lakhs for the unit out of which we can approach for a term loan of Rs.50 Lakhs from any one branchof commercial branks .
For availing a term loan of Rs. 50 Lakhs you are required to give security either land or building or vacant site valued at Rs.75 Lakhs to the concerned bank.
There is no subsidy for animals from GOI but they may give subsidy @ 25% for the milking machines, bulk cooling machines and for refrigerated vehicle. Initially do not go for high investment , depending up on the viability of the unit you can expand for automation.
