Hi

You need to contact the horticulture department for rates and also depends on the demand n supply..

Pls check with the farmers in the neighbourhood to know the rates. My uncle in Mandya sells the coconut at 8Rupees in his farm to the middlemen.

try direct selling if you can

Rs. 4 per coconut seems O.K. to me as last year the rate had dropped to just Rs. 2 per coconut. The only way you can get a better rate for your coconut is to sell directly to the retailers/supermarkets in the big cities. But sometimes they hold up payment for several months. You can try your luck at various approaches to selling and see what works best for you. There is no one way that is best-- there are several!

Rates for agri products fluctuate a lot depending on various conditions, quality of the product, supply vs demand, season etc.
The Coconut you are referring here is, is it tender coconet or dry coconut ? @ Rs 4/ for tender coconut is quite reasonable and for dry coconut it is very high offer.

Coming to Chikku, 20 K price, we can not say is it reasonable unless we get to know the age of the trees, period for which the crop is sold, yield quantity.

Pl do let me look at pictures of the chikku trees with crop so that i can guide you if the offered price is reasonable - Ramki
