Need Information to start Dairy Farming at Konkan area (Maharastra)

Hi all,

I am planning to start a dairy farm In Konkan areas (Maharastra) with 20 animals (Cows / Buffalo's) going forward would plan to expand, I have 5 acres of land 10Km away from sea shore with ground water available.

Therefore need some clarification on my questions.


1) Which breed is suitable for that type of climatic condition?
2) Calculation of land required per animal?
3) What will be the investment amount for 20 animals?
4) How much loan can I get & what is the current interest rate?
5) From which bank should I apply for loan / what will I need to apply for loan?
6) What are the benefits of ST cast form gov/ dose machinery also has subsidy for ST Cast?

Dairy farming is something that requires proper planning and management...

My honest suggestion is first get the ground to earth knowledge of how people are operating dairy farming in your are

The best way is to go and visit people who are already doing it.

For around 20 animal (milching) you will need at least around 8-10 laks for buffaloes...

You are right, first i m trying to gather all information regarding this. from 2 months i had surfed all major sites on net, also planed to visit farms and have some hand on experience and knowledge. but the above query that i was unable to fetch i.e.
