Hai Experts/Members,
1) I want to know how much water is required for growing one acre/hectare of paddy?
2) How much water is needed(in the unit of Litre/KL) for Puddling operation of Transplanted rice?
3) Any research was conducted related to the topic of Water assessment of Paddy? If you know, Give me the website address or Research article Tag.

Water requirement of paddy

Paddy requires approximately 100cm water. As such the quantity is 100mx100mx1m,means 10000cubic metre,means10million litres/ha.
This requirement will vary from soil to soil because of differences in percolation losses which is major component so far as the total water requirement is concerned. In light soil it can be much higher.
