I have a question to clarify on feeding of goat. I know that, as thump of rule 10% of body weight green fodder should be given. My doubt is about how often we should feed the goat? Is that enough to give morning and evening ? (it means 5% of body weight morning and evening). Please advise me on this case.

Feeding to Goat

It is based on grassing for goats are available or not,if possible than it need to offer water for drinking. If grassing is not available then three time feed is to be given based on water amount of green or dry leafs are fed. so all depend up on the availability of free open grass feeding. plenty of water to drink is must and three time feed .:rolleyes:

goat fodder

Dear mabrar,
goat stomach has four chambers, means four stomachs. So the goat eats till all four chambers are fully occupy by grass, hay or silage. As the food digests step by step in four chambers the space becomes vacant and then again goat starts eating fodder.Fodder should be provided to goat only at day time, night is for resting and properly digesting the food.If you proivide them fodder for 24 hrs they will eat 24hrs but its not good for their health and lots of it will get wasted by them.So provide them little little of fodder 3-4 times a day and water after 1 hour of fodder supply for 3-4times a day.
