Satawari cultivation

Satawari is easy to cultivate and highly profitable. The only thing is that u have to wait for 18-24months to get return. North Bihar soil and climate is ideal for cultivation. Sixty or more days old seedlings are transfered in main field at 60x30 or 60x45cm distance after rains in July.Planting can also be done in Aug.-Octo. or Feb.-March. After 18-24months of planting plants are dug in Jan_Feb which yield 80-100g/acre fresh and 12-15 q/acre dry tuber .Under good management yield can exceed20 quintals/acre. Selling rate of dry tuber is Rs.300-Rs.3350/kg.
Above data are for yellow satawari and not for deshi which are normally found in wild state.
Thanks
