Cost of the medical plant

Hi,

I need ur help. we have planned to give a medical plant as gift.. Can anybody tell me which plant is suitable for that. since for each member we are giving we have to consider the growth ( must grow in all home ), useful ( both for them & environment ) & cost.. which is the cheapest & useful plant to gift.

Medicinal plants for gift

Several medicinal plants can be give as gift.some choices
1) Tinospora cordifolia- Amruthavalli, guduchi, it is a climber similar to money plant. this can be grown lke jasmin. the fruits are lke grape. Birds will eat it, the stem is chopped and decoction is used as medicine for fever, cough, cold, diabetes, flu etc.20cm long cutting is enough to prpagate it.
2) Coleus aromatius, 3) Sauropus - Vitamin plant leaf is edible.4) Stevia palnt is 300 times sweeter than Tulsi, a leaf can be added to copy by diabetes patients.Stevia is also propagated through cuttings.

Medicinal plant as gift

Its wonderful idea. The plant to be gifted should be easy to grow (should not require special care), should have high medicinal properties for common ailments and also agaist the prevalent diseases in the area such as liver proble(Hbs Ag) in Orissa.Considering above, following plant species are worth to gift.
Tinospora cordifolia (as suggested by Dr.Posantahn), Kalmegh(Andrographis paniculata), Bhumu amla(Phyllanthus amarus), sarpgandha(Ravoulfia serpentina) ,puja basil(Ocimum sanctum), brahmi (Bacopa monerii), Yellow satawari (Asparagus racemosus) and mulethi(Glycerrhiza glabra).
