Interested in setting up cold storage facilty , would like to know the following.

1. Any formal approval from government is required for setting up the Cold storage facility?

2. wat are the rules and regulations for the setting up the above?

3. Market potential for the above facility.

4. Any approvals from other government bodies are required example water / sewage board etc?

5.Any subsidy is availiable for the above

6. if we donot opt for subsidy, can we goahead with setting up the facility

to set up cold storage u will have to consider fallwoing points in yr mind.
1.Crop u are planning : suppose u stay in rajastan and planning to eshtablish apple storage it is not worthy and similar in potato. do select a area where crops grown and that can be stored (High value and off season) as u cnat storage tomato less price and it is grown yr around.
2.It should be near to main market.
3.subsidy is available for that pls visit nearest hortiuclture dept.
4.It u are setting up with yr own funds means no approval from govt in needed.
