It is a sad and sorry state of affairs with the indian Govt giving a stepmotherly treatment to Agriculture.b The current suicide levels of the farmers is the yardstick of the policies gone haywire. we do not have an agriculture minister who knows the nuances of the agricultural inpputs and outputs. The microfinace has also become a sort of wortthless proposition for marginal farmers.
As far as I am concerned "Acountry which cannot respect its agricuturists and uplift them, is doomed to decay". Our next world war will be based on water and food....the scenario is mind boggling and wrought with fear...pity the next generation of baby boomers....
