PROBIOTIC FEED FOR CATTLE IN INDIA

The basal diets of ruminants are mainly crop residues (sorghum, bajra and any other plant straws), and low quality pasture with high fiber content deficient in nitrogen, readily fermentable energy, minerals and vitamins.
In India farming contributes 4.9% of rural GDP of the country.
In general, ruminants are colonized by indigenous micro biota, which assist in digestion and nutrient absorption. However, changes in the dietary content could adversely affect the autochthonous gut micro biota, which leads to intestinal dysbiosis and poor digestion.
To overcome such hurdles we have come up with a technology that offers a probiotic-fermented diet using crop residues that are cheap and locally available, to replace expensive and toxic feed additives and dietary supplements. Application

The product needs to be directly used for all Animal Husbandry operations. No multiplication or further dilutions should be attempted. The thumb rule is to double the dilution for animals and birds as compared to adults. The application rates for different animals and birds would be as follows:

A. Oral Intake


ANIMALS/ BIRDS DILUTION RATE Clover AH / L: water DILUTION EXAMPLE HOW TO USE
Dairy cows 1:500 100 ml/ head/day or 2 Tbsp (30 ml) per 15 L of water. Drinking water and mix up to 3% in feed over night before application.
Calves 1:1,000 60 ml/ head/ day or 1 Tbsp (15 ml) per 15 L of water. Drinking water and mix up to 3% in feed over night before application.
Sheep/ Swine 1:1,000 ¾ Tbsp (10 ml) per 4 L of water 1.50 Tbsp (25 ml) per 10 L of water. Drinking water and mix up to 3% in feed over night before application.
Poultry (Adult Birds) 1:5,000 1 Tbsp (15 ml) per 100 L of water or 15 ml per 100 birds/ day. Drinking water and mix up to 3% in feed over night before application.
Poultry (Chicks and small birds) 1: 10,000 ¾ Tbsp (10 ml) per 100 L of water or 8 ml per 100 chicks/ day. Drinking water and mix up to 3% in feed over night before application.

B. Floor Washing:
For poultry: 10 ml to be diluted in 10 L of water and sprayed in about 800 sq feet of floor area. This should be done daily or as often as possible for animals and weekly intervals for birds.


C.Bath (for animals only):
While giving animals a bath, mix pure or multiplied Clover AH / L with water @ 1:1,000.


D. Mist spray: Dilute Clover AH / L in water (100 ml per 100 L of water) and carry out a mist spray with the help of misting nozzles. Do this as often as possible.
