Chile is an important world supplier of wood products, and a leader in progressive forestry practices. A creative 1973 forest policy resulted in extensive pine and eucalyptus plantations and a modern wood products industry. A new policy now emphasizes sustainability, native forest management and environmental protection.

Anglatin's fifth forestry tour to Chile includes visits to Chile’s best plantations, tree nurseries, wood products plants, research institutions and farm forests. It includes Santiago, the central valley, the plantation covered coastal mountains in the south, and the native forests of the Andes mountains.

You will learn about innovative silviculture practices, modern wood products manufacturing, forestry research, public forestry policy, Chilean politics, and the Chilean economy. Our ten day tour begins Sunday February 27, 2011. The tour Includes nine nights lodging, all ground transportation, fifteen technical site visits and workshops, two meals per day and a full-time bi-lingual technical guide.
